Being in this industry is not easy. You need to invest on your style and creativity so you can get clients. Again, invest on your style and creativity, on your art; but sad to say many of us photographers and videographers today are being seen lesser than those who have luxurious photography and videography arsenals.
There's a myth that holds back a photographer/videographers from taking stunning images or footage! Have a better or best expensive gears and you can get decent photos... as well as clients. Some photographers and videographers display their extravagant gears on their social media account as a way of marketing.
Expensive gears means, great photo quality and to some, equals a great photographer! Having PHP 100,000.00 worth camera body and lenses attracts more clients because your gears are the best having these type of arsenals.
I remember one commented on my Nikon camera before, "Ah, D90 lang diay imong gamit? Mas maayo kung mga 1D or 7D ug imong lens kay 70-200 2.8mm L lens para nindot jud ug kuha!" (Ah, you're only using D90? Better use 1D or 7D with 70-200mm 2.8 L lens for better images)

Somehow it is true. Having expensive camera body plus expensive lenses means you can have decent pictures without sweat versus entry level and mid pro gears.
For us who can't afford those luxurious cameras, does gears really hinder us from achieving great photographs? I keep repeating this question to my self . Take note, I knew long before that the answer is NO but I still fall into that limbo of new gear-lust.
The effect of the myth intimidates us photographers who are not born with a silver spoon in our mouths. Never be slave with INTIMIDATION because of what others have, remember they don't have your EYES! Sell your "EYES"; sell your SKILLS, your CREATIVITY, your ART, not your gears.

You can take and make excellent photographs with any gears anytime anywhere. If you know how your gear works, you are boundless and limited to your imagination.
