BREAKING POINT: BRINGING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Whazzup everybody! Previously I posted about Jump Starting your Photography but I think I have to add more to make your photography boost up to the next level. No worries, these are simple and easy to understand steps. I just want to add and emphasize more on some matters. Photography is for everyone who is passionate about it. If you are not passionate about it, you can never be a photographer. If you have this passion for photography you. . .

1. TAKE IT STEP BY STEP

I want to emphasize that photography is not an instant skill to own. It's a process and it takes time. Don't be upset if you are not yet "there" in your photography. Keep learning everyday by shooting everyday. One step at a time.

2. HAVE ENTHUSIASM VS. PERFECTION

Perfection in photography is okay. But being a "perfectionist" you'll be missing out the fun and enjoyment while taking photographs. You may keep thinking about how the lights wrapped around your subject. What composition you should use. You may keep thinking about your settings. . .  and if all else fail, you fail and you'll start again from the scratch. Loosen up.  Sometimes the best photographs are the unplanned shots.

3. MASTER STYLE/TECHNIQUE VS. GEAR

Be aware of unrealistic gears. There are lots of gadgets and gears out there but buy only what you need. Avoid gadget lusts.Don't spend lots of money on gears that really doesn't fit your need. Your style and technique matters.

4. ASK FOR HELP

Pride ruins your potentials. Sometimes we find ourselves not asking for help because we don't want others to know that we do not know this or that. Specially when we have this reputation or image already. "I'm better than you, why would I ask for help?" Asking for help will not diminish your photography skills and reputation. In fact, people will admire you because you are humble enough to admit that you do not posses all the knowledge and skills. (and share your knowledge with others too)

Let me end this post by emphasizing again that photography is only for those who are passionate about it. You may be talented on seeing things differently, you may have the photographer's eye, you may have the best gears in the world, but if you are not passionate about photography, you will never become a photographer.

Hope to see you again on my next post.
