Whazzzuuppp! For Mirrorless camera shooters, 7Artisans comes up with a new portrait lens that you would love. Including me, I would love to have one for my portrait session. The 7Art 75mm F1.25, is compatible with range finder cameras and mirrorless cameras... and, it's not like other portrait lenses because as of today, it is the smallest portrait lens with a maximum aperture of F1.25 and minimum aperture of F16.
You can easily put your camera with this lens attached inside your bag and it's perfect for any locations without attracting attention from other people.
This 75mm F1.25 lens is incredibly sturdy. It is not plasticky because it's made of metal brass. It is solid and durable. It weighs 600kg. Whoaaa... Hmmm am imagining I am holding this lens right now but I don't have it yet.
One of the best feature of 7Artisans lenses is their focus ring. I hope this 75mm f1.25 lens does a super smooth focus ring. Everybody 7Art user says that... hmmm when will I really know how and what exactly it feels?
75mm f1.25 is not 85mm nor 35mm nor 50mm nor 200mm. It is 75mm. It means it has a different kind of shot. It's really wide open for F1.25 with 12 pcs blade diaphragm so you can take portraits with very cottony background and this lens can work under different lightning conditions.
According to 7Artisans, this lens is a Full Frame manual focus lens but it can be used with crop sensor cameras but you'll get not a 75mm. For many it matters a lot, for me it doesn't.
CONS
It doesn't have an image stabilization but I guess if you love to shoot portraits, it doesn't matter much compared to shooting videos.
It is made for Leica M series and for some Sony full frame cameras, A7II and A7RII but with a lens adapter. So, it is not for everyone. I don't know if the company will make for other camera brands soon.
