"If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go farther go together!"
-African Proverb
Whazzup Everybody! Am back on trail again... and am travelling now with friends. Yes, you heard it right. I usually travel alone but now I am travelling with good buddies and new friends.
Where my feet goes? To Lake Holon, T'boli, South Cotabato. The latter became popular among climbers, adventurers, or outdoor travelers due to its amazing natural beauty hidden in the middle of South Cotabato's Mountains. Families, friends, buddies, couples, and even solo travelers found this awesome place really amazing.
Kim and Quel were busy taking photos of the astonishing view of Lake Holon.
Only the worthy can see Lake Holon's beauty. Indeed it is.
Unless you are lucky, most of the time, True Beauty can only be seen if you make your self worthy... you have to put all your efforts so you can not only see it but Perceive it.
Together with my friends, we decided to do a DIY (Do It Your Self) trip-venture to Lake Holon so we can own our time... but you can also opt to use Tour Packages from any legal travel agencies like KT Travel and Tours.
Before we kissed Lake Holon's soil, we booked and registered first at the City Tourism of T'boli. It's a protocol. . . for tourist's safety.
Final instructions before starting our trail. . .
Time to use our feet. . .
If you want to succeed, start walking with a goal. Pack light, remove excess baggage and move your feet.
Making memories . . . taking photos and selfies.

Guys, a big thank you for tagging me along in this adventure and thanks for letting me enter into your world of friendship.
The place is perfect for photo ops. . .
- Lake Holon is accessible through two trails, Salacafe (soft trail) and Kule (hard trail). Salacafe trail will only take 3-5 hours hike to the lake while Kule take about 5-7 hours to Lake Holon depending on your walking speed.
- Salacafe trail, known as the easy trail is not to be underestimated. Although it doesn’t require maountaineer's skills, it's still a difficult trail (especially for beginners) from the start of the hike until reaching the lake.
- Salacafe’s trail has now a side trail for you to view the lake 360 degrees.
- If you would opt to use Kule Trail, you are required to be at the tourism office before 12NN. No one is allowed to hike through Kule anytime after lunch for safety purposes... or else gagabihin ka sa daan, dzae!
- From the tourism office, to the base camp for orientation and final instructions (as well as another registration) is still an hour of motorcycle ride. 2 passengers per motorcycle.
- Always hydrate your body while trekking the trail.
- Salacafe and Kule Trails are good for legs and cardio exercise.
- Tents are available for rent at the tourism office but it’s still best to bring your own.
- There are toilets and bath rooms near Lake Holon but they’re pretty small and not well maintained.
- Observe silence especially 10 PM onward. Lights are off at this time; you can still chit-chat with your friends but Don't talk too loud. . . nearby campers are resting already.
- Going back to the base camp? Always use the default trail, Salacafe trail. Kule Trail is not recommended.
- Every "actions" you do at Lake Holon has a cash counterpart so prepare some cash...
My verdict: 9/10. Worth to visit. Have your short vacay and experience the memorable and magical Lake Holon.
